PROCESS

How it works

  1. 01

    Production Scoping

Confidential call with the unit production manager, location manager, or producer. Scope: production type, location count, talent profile, paparazzi exposure, equipment value, neighborhood-relations needs. FilmLA permit conditions reviewed.

  2. 02

    Location Plan + Officer Selection

Production-experienced officers selected from our roster. EP-trained detail leads assigned where talent profile warrants. Pre-shoot location walk to identify access points, equipment-staging zones, parking layout, and any neighborhood-relations considerations.

  3. 03

    Pre-Shoot Coordination

Coordination with location manager, AD department, transportation, and any engaged stunt/effects teams. Vendor list cross-checked. Resident-relations contacts identified for residential-area shoots. Walkie channel and call sheet integration.

  4. 04

    Active Production Coverage

Officers on location 1–2 hours before crew call for locked-location setup verification. Detail lead in radio contact with AD throughout the day. Officers cover assigned zones — perimeter, equipment, talent escort, vehicle protection — without disrupting production flow.

  5. 05

    Wrap + Overnight Protection

Officers remain through wrap-out, covering equipment load-out and any overnight equipment protection. End-of-day report to production. Multi-day productions transition seamlessly to next-day coverage with continuity briefing.

FAQ

Common questions

Are you familiar with FilmLA permit requirements?

Yes. We work directly with FilmLA, location managers, and unit production managers on permit-compliant location coverage. Our officers know the standard FilmLA permit conditions for residential and commercial filming — neighborhood notification, parking restrictions, equipment-staging rules, and crew-conduct expectations.

Can you handle paparazzi at our shoot?

Yes — paparazzi protocols are part of standard production coverage. Officers manage photographer access at the location perimeter, enforce no-photo zones per the production agreement, and intercept unauthorized photographers within the bounds of California law. We never use force; documentation and lawful escort are the tools.

Do you provide talent escort and protection?

Yes. EP-trained detail leads and protection officers escort talent to/from set, hotel, and residence. Coordination with the production transportation department. Pre-production threat assessment available for talent facing credible threats. See executive protection for detail.

Can you cover overnight equipment protection on a multi-day shoot?

Yes — equipment overnight protection is common for multi-day location shoots. Camera packages, lighting, sound, and picture cars protected by standing officer or mobile patrol per the equipment value and location risk profile. Insurance often requires documented overnight security; we provide compliant coverage.

How much does production security cost?

Single-day shoot with 1–2 officers for 12 hours runs $1,200–$2,400. Multi-officer location shoot (3–5 officers, 12 hours) runs $3,200–$6,500. Premiere or screening coverage (4–8 officers, 6 hours) runs $3,500–$8,500. Talent escort detail runs $1,800–$2,800 per day. Multi-week production retainers scope per project.

How far in advance should we book production security?

For major productions and high-profile talent, book 4–8 weeks in advance to coordinate officer selection, EP-trained details, and location-specific protocols. Standard location shoots can be booked 1–2 weeks in advance. Emergency same-day coverage is available for post-incident or breaking-threat scenarios.
